Week 3: Bears 27, Eagles 7 — This Team Brings out the Best in Everybody

Your award-capable hosts break down the absolute magic that was the Bears team rallying around a 3rd-string 38-year-old at QB putting everything he had left out there for a final swan song. The emergence of Dillon Thieneman. The continued ascent of Swift. The weekly domination by the Bears OL. Just another day in the life of the Ben Johnson's Bears.

(LIVE) Tracking Ben Johnson's Quest for the Highest-Scoring Offense Ever:

Ben Johnson set out as Chicago Bears head coach with a simple goal: keep them from ever checking under the floorboards. They must never know. Never know . But before that, he had a different, more palatable goal: set the record for the highest-scoring offense in NFL history. The Bears are playing their 107th season. There are 32 teams. To have the audacity to plant your flag and set your sights on the greatest ever is frankly equally crazy. That being said, he's going for it. So far, anyways. Here, we'll live-update the Bears against the NFL record of 37.9 points per game set by the 2013 Denver Broncos when they scored 606 points across 16 games (37.875 points per game). To beat it, they'll have to score 644:

Week 1: Bears 59, Panthers WHO CARES DID YOU SEE THE PART ABOUT 59 POINTS

The Bears scored 59 points. Ben Johnson's record-setting offense in not just on track, it's actually AHEAD of schedule. Bear Down

BWF Would Like to Formally Apologize to Velus Jones Jr If We've Done Anything To Disrespect (You Porpoise-Handed Waste of a Pick)

I was doing what everyone does when they get online - waste time while dabbling in cyber-stalking at a level that would've been criminal before George Bush took office - when I stumbled across this: So Velus Jones has blocked our twitter account, which is both— A : Totally understandable when you consider just how much we've crapped on his Bears career on the podcast— and— B : Absolutely wild when you consider that I never tweeted at Velus Jones . I never would  do that. So... ... ...how did VJJ find BWF? Was it our millions of fans? Our award-available podcast? Our zipcode-topping handsomeness? All valid theories. Mine is simple - Velus Jones Jr is a huge fan of the Bear Weather Fans podcast . Or I guess was . He's blocked us now. So, Velus, on behalf of at least one half of the BWF podcasting team, I'd like to formally apologize if we've ever done anything that made you feel disrespected. Though unlikely. We're a frankly exhaustingly professional organization ...

BWF Pod - Preseason Week 3: We Have Ourselves a Team, Hope It's Good Enough

Your EXTREMELY professional and frankly OVERQUALIFIED hosts go over the final 53-man roster, discuss the emergence of Jordan Van Den Berg and the rest of the rookies at the cost of Gervon Dexter and more. Is this defense good enough to compete? ...maybe?
